Southam Creative

Exiting from the sale to Fine Solutions in 2013, we found ourselves in the same boat we were in back in 2003: business leaders with no company to run.  But this time, we wanted to avoid software and technology where it’s hard to possess our values and simultaneously be profitable.  Software is a dog-eat-dog business and our partner, Microsoft, made it clear that if we did not consistently make them money, they had no time for us.  It was refreshingly honest and borishly brutal.

So we decided to take the marketing success we had experienced in the creative work at TriVenture and make it our primary focus.  We would buy the equipment needed to succeed artistically, and we would develop a compelling value proposition for the market.  We won our first project by luck.  Then our second.

What was proven to us again was this: make customer satisfaction your top priority and focus on that more than you focus on the next invoice and you’ll succeed.  It was true in 1988, it was true in 2003, it was true in 2013 and it remains self evidently true to this very day.  We love our customers.  Except one. There is one customer we didn’t like. We fired them.
