Returning to Seattle from Chicago, an opportunity arose for Southam to create a business within a business focused on embedded systems Y2K remidiation.  The organization became known as the Enterprise Consulting Group within BEST Consulting, a staffing company owned by SC-based PGA Group. While several national teams had successfully marketed Y2K remediation services in relation to code, it was up to our team to find all of the hidden chips in critical infrastructure and make a determination as to their Y2K survivability.  We delivered projects at most major airports in the Western United States, police and fire departments in dozens of cities, and in many other public sector operations.  The day we started, we had one employee.  By the time we concluded the business in early 2000, we had over 3,000 employees.  It was exceedingly successful and we all survived Y2k, so it was time for the next venture.
